Hold down the Shift key during Windows log-on process. This will stop Windows to load any start-up programs that are present in the following folders.

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
